      Remote diagnostics of the state of insulators

      The module for remote diagnostics of overhead line insulators is designed for remote diagnostics of the parameters of support and linear insulators of 6-110 kV overhead lines and ensuring continuous monitoring of the condition of the armature.

      The module allows you to fix at the initial stage: damage, pollution or breakdowns of insulators, by monitoring the leakage of microcurrents. This allows you to avoid possible accidents on the lines and save on finding damage sites, monitoring the condition of the equipment and the consequences of an accident. The module is completely autonomous, does not require recharging, replacement of power supplies and maintenance in general. The service life of the module for remote diagnostics of insulators is more than 10 years.

      Monitoring of insulators is carried out by measuring the value of leakage currents through insulators. Leakage currents are measured by highly sensitive current transformers.

      • Measurement of leakage microcurrents through the insulator to the ground within 10mA-1A (to be specified during the project implementation)
      • Fixing the occurrence of random discharges
      • Ffixing the dynamics of the increase in leakage currents
      • Transfer of information to the server using a GSM / GPRS communication channel or via a radio channel

      The module for remote diagnostics of insulators measures leakage currents, the dynamics of changes in leakage currents over time with the ability to evaluate partial and corona discharges. These parameters make it possible to assess the state of insulators and take measures to carry out predictive actions to prevent the manifestation of abnormal and emergency situations.

      Fixing partial discharges, assessing their power and repeatability allows you to timely identify developing insulation damage and take the necessary measures to eliminate them.

      Information from the sensors of the modules located on the overhead line is transmitted to the server for collecting information from remote diagnostics for subsequent processing and distribution of the information received to the control centers of electric grid companies and emergency services for prompt response to the possible manifestation of abnormal and emergency situations.

      Structurally, the module for remote monitoring of overhead line insulators is a protective case with a microcontroller board connected to a sensitive element - a microcurrent sensor. The protective housing of the remote monitoring module for overhead line insulators provides the ability to install the module on an overhead line wire. The sensitive element is a transformer microcurrent sensor containing a built-in module for converting an analog microcurrent signal into an RS485 interface signal.

      The design of the transformer microcurrent sensor provides the possibility of its installation on the overhead line insulator. Leakage current data transmission from the transformer microcurrent sensor to the microcontroller enclosed in a protective case is carried out by means of a signal wire via the RS485 interface.
